El Laboratorio de Comunicaciones Celulares, es un grupo muy dinámico que trabaja en una variedad de temas en el área de la biología celular y la transducción de señales, principalmente en las células eucariotas, importantes en patologías humanas como el cáncer y la neuroninflamación.

Lisette Leyton

La Dra. Lisette Leyton es Bioquímico de la Facultad de Ciencias Químicas y Farmacéuticas de la Universidad de Chile y obtuvo su grado de Doctor en Ciencias, mención Biología Celular en la Facultad de Ciencias Básicas, Universidad de Chile. La Dra. Leyton realizó su postdoctorado en la Universidad de Duke, Durham, Carolina del Norte, EE. UU., y, posteriormente, en la Universidad de Lausanne, Epalinges, Suiza. Actualmente es Profesor Titular de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Chile y, además, Coordinadora del Comité del Programa de Doctorado Conjunto (JDP) en Ciencias Biomédicas entre la Facultad de medicina de la Universidad de Chile y de la University Medical Center of Groningen (UMCG, de la Universidad de Groningen.

Líneas de Investigación

Su área de investigación esta enfocada en los mecanismos moleculares de comunicación célula-célula y célula-matriz, señalización celular e interacciones receptor-ligando. Su investigación estudia cómo las células responden a señales del entorno para modificar su estructura, migrar y participar en procesos como reactividad astrocitaria, reparación de heridas, angiogénesis y control de la metástasis. Actualmente investiga las vías de señalización que regulan la comunicación entre astrocitos y neuronas, y entre células tumorales y endotelio. Es autora de más de 100 publicaciones científicas en revistas internacionales ISI Q1.
