Cecilia Hidalgo

Cecilia Hidalgo. She has a Degree in Biochemistry (1965) and of Doctor in Sciences (1969), Universidad de Chile. She was a Research Scientist at the Boston Biomedical Research Institute and Associate of Harvard Medical School (1977-1986). Currently, she is Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad de Chile.

In 2006 she was awarded the National Prize of Natural Sciences for her international experience in the field of intracellular calcium regulation, becoming the first woman to receive this recognition. She is currently Vice-President of the Chilean Academy of Sciences and President of the Evaluation Council of the Universidad de Chile.
