School “explore” the science


As part of the “Science Week” organized by the Explore Program Conicyt, about 300 students from six schools in the metropolitan area who knew the contributions of the Center for Molecular Studies of the Cell to the generation of knowledge and training advanced human resource, and attended a lecture given by Dr. Diego Garcia, academic Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine, related to chronic inflammation and obesity.

The meeting on Monday, October 7, 2013, the occasion was held at Dr. Andrew Quest Academic Program Cellular and Molecular Biology, Institute of Biomedical Sciences at our campus, part of the CEMC and director of Project NEMESIS Ring -Network for Metabolic stress signaling-deepened against the school with respect to the contribution to the country has meant CEMC since its inception in 2002 until today, as its central theme is the study of signal transduction mechanisms operating in normal cells and abnormal or diseased cells, in order to understand the function of nerve cells, the action of hormones, the physiology of skeletal and cardiac muscle cell death and cancer.
